Hiram Miller Alexander, Jr.

Hiram Miller Alexander, Jr. of Helena died Thursday, December 2. Alexander was born on November 29, 1944, in Memphis. He is the son of the late Velda and Hiram Alexander, Sr. of Helena. Milton is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Alexander May, and her husband Willliam "Bill" of Little Rock, AR, and their children, Bill May and his wife Tammy of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and their daughter Emily, daughters Mary Louise May of Chicago, IL, and Sarah May Treat and her husband Billy and their children Billy and Alex of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Milton's daughters Theresa "Terri" Elizabeth Alexander Turner and husband Jimmy and three grandchildren, Bryan, Thomas, and Elizabeth, all of Belzoni, MS, Ashley Alexander DeHaven and her husband Jay and two step-children, Beren and Drew, all of Little Rock, AR; and his son Hiram Milton "Alex" Alexander, III and his wife, Brooke, of New Orleans, LA.

Milton was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Helena. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and majored in the School of Agriculture. Milton farmed many years in eastern Arkansas and various areas of the delta. He served on the Riceland Board and was active in many community organizations. Milton had many lifelong friends, many established in his wonderful years at the University, which he spoke of fondly and often.

A memorial will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Monday, December 6 at 1 p.m. Reverend Andrew Jackson will officiate. A reception to follow immediately.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for the Wolfe Street Foundation, 1210 Wolfe Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas (870) 572-2571.
